A Ghanaian expatriate identified as Mr. Ato was brought to tears in the United Arab Emirates after popular content creator and philanthropist Amjad Ali approached him with unexpected kindness.
Ato, who has been living in the Emirates for just two months, was on his way to work when Mr. Ali stopped to speak with him. During their interaction, Ato emotionally revealed that life in the UAE has been tough and overwhelming, and that no one had ever approached him with such compassion since his arrival.
Amjad Ali gently asked how he had been coping, how he manages to eat, and how life has treated him so far in the Emirates. After listening to Ato’s struggles, Mr. Ali encouraged him to stay strong, reminding him that settling in takes time and that he should keep pushing forward.
To support him, Mr. Ali gifted Ato bags of rice and other foodstuffs—a gesture that left the young Ghanaian visibly emotional and grateful.
